Welcome to Cocodrie! We are located in one of the most unique and beautiful places in the world, south Louisiana, just an hour and a half from New Orleans with it's wonderful sights, sounds, and culture. Yet, when you travel that ninety miles "down da bayou", you will notice subtle changes occurring as you move from the city to our little community on the island. We are situated in the middle of Acadian culture stretching from New Orleans to Lafayette. Common sights are trawl boats on the bayou, signs proclaiming "Crabs, live or boiled", and conversations in Cajun French at the grocery. Cocodrie is located in one of the richest fishing grounds found anywhere. Blue water and marsh fishing is abundant, as well as shrimping and crabbing. We'd love for you to come and see us.
